COLDWAR MUSEUM gets a home. The Fairfax County, VA Park Authority has given land at the former Lorton complex to the musuem to build a permanent home. It is on the site of a former Nike missle base.

The 2004 edition of "United States Navy Hull Numbers Since 1920 -- Volume 1" was Published September 2004 and is now available.
As well as being completely updated with information up to August 2004, many new listings have been added. The Amphibious Warfare designations have been completely overhauled and now include British Lend-Lease ships as well as earlier designations before the standardized L designator was adopted. The Destroyer section now includes Destroyer Leaders, Destroyer Minesweepers, Destroyer Escorts and Frigates. The Cruiser section includes earlier and concurrent designation types to the main CA / CL sequence. Lend-Lease Escort Carriers have been added in the Aircraft Carrier section. Five new appendices have been added.

Over 4,100 separate hull numbers listed.
